I like figuring things out. Science can be very frustrating because a lot goes wrong, but it’s great when you work through things and find the answers. I also really like how different my days can be from each other.

I like the “unknown” part of the job. The areas that have not been explored yet. Answers waiting to be discovered. Science and Physics are relatively rigid, but the creativity involved with discovering and applying new answers is what I really enjoy.

Finding and implementing solutions to challenging problems. There are always going to be problems and unanswered questions in any time we do anything. Being part of the solution is satisfying and fun.

Samantha Sherman answered on 29 Jan 2022:
I love being able to see something and ask why it happens and then go find out. I like working with people from all over on the world to try and solve problems and make life easier and better for people. I even kind of love that you can’t just have a simple conversation when it’s all scientists, it always shifts to projects at least a little bit… it takes someone passionate to make it in academic sciences so you’re surrounded by people that love their work!
