Stefanie Fields answered on 24 Jan 2022:
For me, I was always interested in the “why” or “how” behind everything. My dad was a middle school science and math teacher, so he presented the scientific answer for my curiosity. The combo just made becoming a scientist an easy pick… you could almost say, science picked me 🙂 All that was left was figuring out where/what part of the science world I wanted to focus on.

I didn’t know I wanted to become a scientist. To be sincere, I didn’t think I could be one. However, I have always wanted to know as much as possible about space. Every time I looked at the sky, looking for a constellation or a shuttle flight, I needed to know how human beings made it possible, how far we can go, and how I could be part of it. I discovered that I needed to become a scientist and here I am. I am still studying, and I think I will never stop. Hopefully, one day, I can be an important part of the scientific community 🙂
