Even though I am in EHS, I primarily focus on the environmental portion of the job. That means I take care of a lot of different things! For instance, I work with the government to make sure that we follow the rules with our permits and reporting, make sure that all our wastes are handled properly to protect the environment, and everything in between.

My Typical Day:
The best part of my job is that every day is different! I can be working on spreadsheets, or government reporting, to dealing with emergencies that are happening at the facility (chemical spills, injuries, etc.) I start my mornings with coffee (got to have that caffeine), work from 7AM to 4PM, and have lunch somewhere in between.

How would you describe yourself in 3 words?
Fun-loving, Encouraging, and Trustworthy
What's the best thing you've done in your career?
I can't say there is one project/instance that has been the "best thing", however, I think something I'm proud of when looking at my career is being able to tackle a variety of challenges. Not all careers are straight paths, and trying new things can be scary.
What or who inspired you to follow your career?
My dad was a big part of me going into science. He was a middle school math and science teacher, so as a kid when I asked about the "why" and "how" of things, my dad encouraged the scientific explanation.
What was your favorite subject at school?
Math or Science. Chemistry in High School...who doesn't like to mix things and watch them explode?
What did you want to be after you left school?
Veterinarian
Were you ever in trouble at school?
I remember getting detention once, but as a whole, I was never in trouble.
If you weren't doing this job, what would you choose instead?
I'm not sure! Maybe a Biochemical Engineer or an Orthopedic Surgeon ... let's dream BIG!
Who is your favorite singer or band?
Fall Out Boy, CCR, Badflower... My musical tastes are very eclectic.
What's your favorite food?
Ice cream
What is the most fun thing you've done?
Went to the top of the highest ski lift in North America (12,840 ft) and snowboard down. It was fun and scary!
If you had 3 wishes for yourself what would they be? - be honest!
Health, Happiness, and to win the lottery! :)
Tell us a joke.
Why did the crab never share? Because he's shellfish.
